    1. Artists Cecilia Vicuña , Monira Al Qadiri, and Danica Lundy have joined new galleries.

The popularity of women artists has risen significantly in recent times, with many galleries choosing to represent them in the wake of Cecilia Alemani's female-focused exhibition, The Milk of Dreams, at the 59th Venice Biennale. Several prominent women artists, including Danica Lundy, Monira Al Qadiri, and Cecilia Vicuña, have recently joined new galleries, adding to a growing list of female artists who have made similar moves in recent months. While the impact of these changes on the artists' careers is not yet clear, it is undeniable that the representation of women in the art world is increasing. 4.Ernie Barnes Painting took a hit in Bonhams.

If you believed that the popularity of Ernie Barnes' paintings had declined, you were proven wrong last week when Main Street Pool Hall from 1978 sold for $1.8 million at Christie's London sale. This was the third-highest price paid for a Barnes painting, after the $15 million for Sugar Shack from 1976 and the $2.34 million for Storm Dance from 1977. Bonhams has also been selling Barnes' paintings, and has announced that it will be selling Solid Rock Congregation from 1993 in September with a low estimate of $500,000.
